Tasmania the scene for more AMA Awards

This week we visited Hobart to continue the AMA Awards season.

AMA Tasmania’s anticipated annual Women in Medicine gathering occurred last week and coincided perfectly with a visit from the AMA Federal Board and Senior Leadership Team.

Held at T42 Hobart on the Derwent River foreshore, the event provided a tranquil moment before the end of year frenzy for medical professionals to connect, support, and network.

The afternoon toasted the outstanding contributions of women in medicine, with a particular focus on Dr Helen McArdle, Immediate Past AMA Tasmania President and recipient of the 2023 AMA Federal Award Women in Leadership, a well-deserved honour.

The event also featured a compelling address by guest speaker Gavin Quek, who passionately discussed the connections between dental and physical health and emphasised the role of curiosity in driving progress.

The occasion honoured achievements and aimed to foster unity within the medical community.
